Award for Distinguished Service in Librarianship & VP/President Elect of NELA

Do you know of an outstanding librarian who's had a powerful impact on the library world of New England--someone who exhibits excellent service in their field, or created powerful partnerships across New England, or who is an amazing leader?

If you answered yes to any of those questions, please email your NELA Representative Kelly Parlin (ri@nelib.org) with the name of the person so they can be nominated for the Emerson Greenaway Award. *The nominee must be or have been a member of NELA.

Also, are you or someone you know interested in a leadership position that serves all of New England's libraries? NELA is seeking candidates for the position of VP/President Elect! Please contact Kelly at ri@nelib.org for more information.

Thanks,
Kelly

Learn How To Talk About Race starting the week of March 29th

Join your peers for “How to Talk about Race,” a free, 5-week learning circle about moderating discussions about race.

Learning circles are lightly-facilitated study groups for people who want to learn together. Though the material can be used by anyone, this course was designed specifically to equip library employees with the skills to run effective and considerate book discussions, group conversations, and other programs about race in their communities.

All Rhode Island library staff are invited to participate in one of these free, 5-week learning circles beginning the week of March 29th. There are a variety of days and times available to accommodate your schedule.
