Down Time with Cranston Public Library

By Cranston Public Library

Each week on Down Time with Cranston Public Library, host Tayla Cardillo chats with staff from Cranston Public Library about what they’ve been reading, what they’ve been watching, and what they’ve been loving. You’ll also hear from guests from outside the library community sharing their work and passions. New episodes are released every Tuesday at noon - subscribe so you never miss an episode!
This week Tayla is joined by Maria Cotto, Babs Wells, and Lisa Lesinski, three RI librarians who are part of the Sensory Friendly Inclusive Group. They talk all about how the Sensory Friendly Inclusive group supports and inspires library workers to offer sensory friendly programming at their libraries. They also discuss audiobooks, youth graphic novels, and family recipes. During The Last Chapter they discuss: What are your favorite titles that celebrate the neurodiverse community?

Join us for the exhibition opening of the Simmons Center’s Spring 2023 Heimark Artist in Residence, Renée Elizabeth Neely-TANNER.  Neely-TANNER’s work explores the intimate relationships BIPOC have always had with their environment. Not simply as laborers, but as environmental stewards–a complex and unique position linking freedom and green.

This exhibition, catalog, and related events are made possible through the generous funding of the Simmons Center’s Heimark Artist in Residence program.
