Looking for RIMSBA Committee Applicants

We've just opened applications for new committee members. The RIMSBA committee is a group of library and school staff working with students in grades 6-8 who create an annual list of 20 of the best recent books for middle school students.

We have been proud to create a diverse group of titles for students to read and vote on each year - however, we know we would provide a richer reading experience for our students if our committee diversity better matched the community.

I am wondering if you are able to encourage our local BIPOC library staff to apply? RIMSBA committee members serve a three-year term and meet once a month to discuss books starting September, 2021.

Members of the committee should:

· Work directly with Rhode Island children in grades 6-8

· Be available to meet once a month from September - April for their 3-year term

· Have an interest in middle grade literature

· Commit to a high volume of reading

Interested folks can apply at: http://bit.ly/RIMSBA2022App.

Please let me know if you have any questions!
