RI Historical Records Board offers scholarships (Providence, RI)

The Rhode Island Historical Records Advisory Board (RIHRAB) announces additional scholarship opportunities for 2021 in partnership with the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC) to provide continuing education in archival studies. Scholarships of up to $1,000 will be awarded to qualified applicants for courses in archives management and preservation offered at in-state and out-of-state institutions, or to attend professional conferences, classes, courses, and virtual learning sessions. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until December 1, 2021. Preference will be given for courses that occur between July 01, 2021 – December 31, 2021. Scholarship funds may be used for course and conference registration fees and other related costs. Scholarship recipients will be required to submit a short blog post for the RIHRAB website to be shared with the Rhode Island archival community, as well as give a brief virtual presentation (5- 10 minutes) to the RI Historical Records Advisory Board in February 2022 summarizing their experiences, and how they intend to apply their learning. Archivists, students, and information professionals in Rhode Island seeking professional development in archives are encouraged to apply.
